| Unlike
solicitors, we do not charge you at an hourly rate. NACSA
subscribers benefit from a host of support and guidance from
the advisers, to help you resolve the outstanding issues on
your case.
Some of the benefits include;
TELEPHONE
SUPPORT :
One of the most frustrating aspects of dealing with the Child
Support Agency is the impression that they are simply not
listening to you and your concerns. Sometimes just having
the knowledge that someone is listening without judgement
can make all the difference. As a subscriber, you will be
given details of the telephone help line number where you
leave your details and an adviser will call you back to discuss
the issues of concern. Many current subscribers have expressed
a feeling of “having the weight taken off them”
just by an initial phone call.
Access to the advisers can also be gained via a direct email
address, and we aim to respond to all subscriber enquiries
within 48 hours.
MEMBERS
FORUMS:
Many other websites which have public discussion forums which
often become tainted with posts from individuals that pre-judge,
criticise and generally “flame” other posters.
The NACSA forum is available to subscribers only, and thus
provides a safe platform for you to discuss matters relating
to their personal lives and CSA problems. The discussion forums
will not only allow you to meet other subscribers, but will
also show you that your case is not unique – and the
anxiety you feel is not uncommon. You will meet and make friends
with people in similar situations to yourself, and who will
offer the support that is needed at difficult times. We have
a specific forum for the partners to NRPs who experience problems
that other people find difficult to understand at time.
NEWSLETTERS:
Every quarter, you will receive a copy of our newsletter NACSA
NEWS. This newsletter will keep you informed of all progress
and developments take place within CSA, and the introduction
of CMEC. It will keep you up to date with the work that NACSA
has carried out both with CSA itself and for individual clients.
Current subscribers have informed us of how useful they find
the newsletters, and how they value it as one of the benefits
of subscription.
INFORMATION
DATABASE:
Child Support Law is complex, so much so that sometimes even
agency staff is not aware of the correct procedures to follow.
Our subscriber section will keep you informed of information
that we feel is important to know. You will find a range of
sources providing you with useful and informative information
and we shall continue to expand on this when we have information
that is important to you.
NEWS
AND BULLETINS:
At the time of writing, Government are currently working on
their new CMEC scheme, due to be introduced in 2011-2013.
There will be many stages to work through, and as each area
develops, changes may be evident in the CSA system that we
have today. The CSA are also implementing the Operational
Improvement Plan which will also introduce changes to the
current procedures. We will keep subscribers informed with
developments within CSA as soon as we become aware of any
proposals to amend existing regulations.
OFFICIAL
MEETINGS:
As a stakeholder group to the Child Support Agency, we have
the right to question, and raise official complaints to CSA
directorate should we feel that they are not acting appropriately.
This position allows us to not only be aware of any proposed
changes to legislation and procedure, but also to raise certain
impossibly difficult cases to higher authority.
NACSA officials also attend regular meetings with a variety
of CSA directorates, Ministers and the Dept. of Works and
Pensions Select Committee. These meetings allow NACSA to relay
concerns about activities of the CSA staff, both for individual
cases and against practises as a whole that inflict hardship
upon families.
