If your case is managed by Child Support Agency or Child Maintenance Service, we can help. Our standard telephone support service provides access to the helpline whereby you can discuss your case in detail and establish what, if any, action you need to take in order to resolve the issues. Alongside the helpline service we also offer:
Whether your case is assessed on CS1, CS2, or CS3 we can calculate your potential maintenance payment, or check if CSA/CMS calculations are accurate. This is particularly useful if your circumstances are likely to change and you want to consider the impact it may have on your maintenance payments, or you wish to apply to the Variation Scheme to increase or decrease the maintenance liability. An online calculator is available on the CMOptions website for the basic formula, but will not provide outcomes that may be affected by a variation decision.
DEBT VERIFICATION AUDIT
As cases with CSA are closing, many parents are receiving letters advising them of debts that they had no knowledge about. Debts are enforceable, despite your dispute and the onus is on you to prove, not simply state, that the debt is wrong.
The Debt Verification Audit allows one of our trained consultants to study your complete case history file and identify if the decisions made are correct in law, and whether or not you have grounds to challenge them.
An audit may also help to unravel complex issues that have been ongoing for many years. The audity will identify key activities and highlight any aspects that may require further investigation or action with CSA/CMS.
With CSA cases being closed down, access to historical information may be limited. If you have reason to believe CSA (or CMS) have not acted lawfully in your case, seek help now.
We offer a Full Representation Service which allows NACSA to deal with CSA/CMS on your behalf, removing the need for any parent to have to deal with CSA/CMS directly. Although we cannot make CMS prioritise your case, we can ensure that no decision is made outside of the legislation.
Representation can often help to reduce the anxiety of dealing with CSA/CMS directly, but also allows you the opportunity to dedicate your time and attention to other committments such as work and family. We can take the burden from you. Parents report an “immense relief” after handing their case over to NACSA.
CHILD SUPPORT TRIBUNAL/APPEAL
If you are disputing a decision, it is quite likely that you will require the services of HM Courts and Tribunal Service. This is a legal process, which follows a strict framework and requires good sound knowledge of preparation and engagement. It is important to prepare and present your case correctly to ensure the best outcome.
